  • Hydroxylation

    The chemical change of a compound containing the hydrogen atom to acquisition of the hydroxyl radical. A change from H to OH in the chemical structure of a compound. The addition of a hydroxyl (-OH) group to a compound.

    Response of organisms, or parts of organisms, to moisture or water. The response of plants toward moisture (positive hydrotropism) or away from it (negative hydrotropism).

    Dihydromorphone. Narcotic analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain. Adverse effects include drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, and the potential for addiction.
