    Any of a variety of experiences which change the way a person feels and responds to health-related aspects of the environment can be either health-related or health-directed.  

  • Health knowledge

    The acquisition of health information which is assimilated and accommodated by the individual is health facts that become meaningful and a functional and integral part of the individual in making health decisions.  

  • Health issues

    Matters pertaining to individual and/or societal health, health problems.  

  • Health insurance

    Probably more appropriately called disease insurance since most policies rarely cover “health.” They tend to protect against the cost of illness, disability, etc. There are several modes of payment and forms of insurance: (a) direct payment, (b) copayment, (c) third-party payment, and others.   • Health instruction

    An obsolete term used in the past to describe direct and indirect health learning. Essentially, health teaching. More recently, health professionals have replaced this term with the broader one of health education which implies a focus on learning rather than on teaching. Instruction implies indoctrination.  

  • Health information

    Facts related to the quality of individual and societal physical, psychological, and sociological effectiveness.  

  • Health huckster

    Also health hawker, peddler. A person who sells health or medical products and services for commercial profit, frequently falsifying or distorting scientific truth about the product or service.  

  • Health habit

    A health practice that has become a routine activity or behavior, health-related behavior; habit.  

  • Health guidance

    A broad term that implies a variety of counseling techniques used to provide individuals or groups with insight into personal health problems.  

  • Health goal

    General objective health education goal; mission; health mission.
