    Occurring after childbirth, with reference to the mother. General medical term for the period after childbirth. To the first few days after childbirth The term applied to anything happening immediately after childbirth: for example, postpartum haemorrhage.

  • Phototoxicity

    Toxic effect triggered by exposure to light. A substance that, when consumed or applied to the skin, causes an excfessive sunburn when the skin is exposed to the sun. A cause of damage to the retina of the eye due to exposure to too much ultraviolet light or radiation.  

  • Photoprotective

    Protecting against harmful effects of lights (UV-irradiation).  

  • Parasiticidal

    Destructive to the parasites.  

  • Panacea

    A remedy for all diseases. An agent good for what ails you, or what doesn’t ail yo u. In American Indian traditions a “life” medicine. Ginseng is the most famous example.
