  • Purpurescent

    Ending in a rigid sharp point. A sharp, astringent, acrid odor usually from strong spices, alcohol or tannins. A term used to portray a taste or aroma that stimulates the taste buds and olfactory senses with a tingling sensation or is pleasantly robust and distinctive, but without crossing the threshold into being unpleasantly overwhelming.

    Swollen part of the stalk of an individual leaflet in a compound leaf, similar to pulvinus.  

  • Pulviniform

    Cushion-shaped [unusual term].  

  • Pulvinate

    With a pulvinus (i.e. a swelling) mostly on the petiole (either proximal, distal, or both).
