    From the Latin meaning ‘of uncertain seat’, i.e. of unclear taxonomic position. Literally, of uncertain seating: a group of uncertain taxonomic placement.

    Producing offspring by self-fertilisation or by crossing of parents that are very close genetically. The breeding of close relatives in both plants and animals.     Not jointed, continuous. Without joints or segments, as in the bones of the skull. Unable to speak fluently or intelligibly. Not understandable as speech or language. Lacking joints or disjointed. This term especially refers to vocal sounds that cannot be comprehended. In common usage, it signifies being speechless or speaking unclearly.

    Without an appendage. Provided with appendages.
