  • Fusoid cells

    Somewhat fusiform, spindle-shaped.  

  • Fused

    Joined together into a whole. Petals, sepals, or other parts attached to one another, forming a single, usually tubular, structure. Fruits are sometimes fused, as in Rubus and Castilla species.  

  • Fuscous

    Dusky brown, dark grey-brown.  

  • Furry

  • Furrowed (stems)

    (Of bark) with longitudinal grooves or channels. Having longitudinal channels or grooves along the stem. With longitudinal grooves. Marked by longitudinal grooves.  

  • Furfuraceous

    Scurfy, with small soft scales. Referring to skin which is scaly. Describing scaling of skin in which the scales resemble bran or dandruff.  

  • Furcate

    Forked with sharp terminal lobes.  

  • Funnel-shaped, funnel-form

    Proximally tubular, abruptly widening to a wider distal part. Of a tubular shape that widens abruptly to a wider distal part.  

  • Funiculus

    The stalk of the ovule or seed attaching it to the placenta; seed stalk. One of the three parts of the white matter in the spinal cord. Any of the three main columns of white matter found in each lateral half of the spinal cord (funiculi spinalis). Any small structure resembling a cord.  

  • Funicular

    Deriving from the funicle.
