  • B cells

    Lymphocytic cells (“B” for bone marrow cells) of the adaptive immune system that produce antibodies. A particular subtype of lymphocyte, which is a type of white blood cell, playing a crucial role in the body’s immune defense. Mature B cells are responsible for producing immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies.  

  • Avoidance coping

    Disengaging from the stressor or its effects.  

  • Automatic negative thoughts

    Distorted cognitions that occur almost reflexively and sometimes without awareness.

    The neural network involving the reticular activating system responsible for vigilance and excitement of higher brain centers.  

  • Anxiety sensitivity

    Fear and worry that one will experience anxiety or panic.  

  • Anterior cingulate

    Region of the limbic system that plays a major role in the emotional control system because of its extensive connections with the thalamus and its connections with other parts of the limbic system.  

  • Anger management

    Application of cognitive, relaxation, and social skills training to regulate anger.
