  • Dilatation and evaculation

    A surgical procedure and abortion method in which the cervix is dilated and the contents of the uterus are removed (evacuated). It is normally performed during the second trimester.  

  • Complicated abortion

    Any spontaneous or induced abortion that results in complications, such as bleeding or infection.  

  • Clue cells

    Cells in the vagina that are covered with bacteria, uniquely found in women who have a vaginal infection.  

  • Oestrogen dominance

    Having an imbalance of the female hormones with too much oestrogen compared to progesterone.  

  • Diabetes disorder

    Blood-sugar levels are too high either because the body can’t produce enough insulin or because it can’t use it effectively.  

  • Bone turnover

    Rate at which bone breaks down and builds up when the body replaces old bone with healthy new bone.  

  • Bioflavonoids

    Substances that have antioxidant benefits, are anti-inflammatory and help to strengthen blood capillaries; found in fruits. A term for any of a group of substances found in many fruits and essential for the absorption and processing of vitamin C.  

  • Benign harmless

    Non-cancerous condition that will not spread to other parts of the body.  

  • World view

    View that encompasses and considers all that is living and nonliving. Not human-centered.  

  • Workout

    The physical activity/exercise that follows the warm-up and precedes the cool-down. (Some definitions include the warm-up and cool-down as part of the workout.)
