  • Endodontic stabilizer

    Tapered post made of a biocompatible alloy that is cemented into a natural tooth, extending beyond the apex into the surrounding bone, on the assumption that it would stabilize the tooth. Called also endodontic pin.  

  • Endodontic pin

    A metal pin that is intentionally placed through the apex of a mobile tooth and into the surrounding apical bone for stabilization. A straight or threaded filling that is passed through the root canal to the alveolar bone beyond the apex of the tooth root.
