  • Apoplectic stroke

    A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures. This leads to an abrupt loss of consciousness, facial flushing, and labored breathing. If the individual survives, there’s a possibility of paralysis on one side of the body.  

  • Striae atrophicae

    Pale, linear marks on the skin of the abdomen or breasts that appear after the skin has been stretched due to weight gain, pregnancy, or other reasons.  

  • Streptothricosis

    An infection resulting from a fungus belonging to the Streptothrix genus, also known as streptotrichosis.  

  • Streptosepticemia

    The occurrence of streptococci bacteria in the bloodstream, leading to a type of blood infection or septicemia.  

  • Streptomycosis

    An illness resulting from a fungus belonging to the Streptomyces genus.  

  • Streptococcemia

    The existence of streptococci bacteria in the bloodstream.  

  • Streptobacteria

    Short, rod-like bacteria arranged in coiled chains, belonging to the Streptobacillus genus.  

  • Strabometer

    A device used to measure the optical misalignment in a squint.  

  • Tarry stools

    Dark stools composed of digested blood resulting from internal bleeding within the intestinal tract. It’s important to distinguish these from the gray stools caused by bismuth medications and the gray-black stools that may occur after taking iron supplements.  

  • Sheep-dung stools

    Tiny, spherical fecal clusters resembling sheep dung, which can arise in situations of starvation, extreme hunger, or individuals following a highly limited, non-residual diet.
