  • Webbed

    Having a membrane or tissue connecting adjacent structures, as the toes of a duck’s feet.  

  • Web-based

    Founded on, or depending on the Internet. Said, for example, of certain forms of education and knowledge dissemination.  

  • Terminal web

    A microscopic web-like network that is beneath the microvilli of intestinal absorption cells, and beneath the stereocilia of the hair cells of the inner ear.  

  • Esophageal web

    A group of thin membranous structures that include mucosal and submucosal coats across the esophagus. They may be congenital or may follow trauma, inflammation, or ulceration of the esophagus.

    A thin tissue or membrane extending across a space.

    The location of tooth erosion as determined by the characteristics of the facets of the teeth.

    A means of assessing whether a patient receiving mechanical ventilation is capable of spontaneous, unsupported breathing. A variety of criteria are used.   • Stretch weakness

    The apparent weakness of a muscle resulting from prolonged positioning in a lengthened position, thus shifting the muscle length-tension curve to the right; a form of positional weakness. This phenomenon is observed when the force production of the lengthened muscle is limited when it is tested in a relatively short position.
