Homopolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (CF2‐CF2)n that is a nonflammable, tough, inert resin with good resistance to chemicals and heat. Used as a surgical implant material for guided tissue regeneration (GTR), guided bone regeneration (GBR), prostheses such as artificial vessels and orbital floor implants, and for many applications in skeletal augmentation and skeletal fixation. Also used widely in industry, e.g., to insulate, protect, or lubricate apparatuses.
A synthetic polymer that has slippery, non sticking properties. It is used in a variety of products, including vascular grafts used to bypass obstructed blood vessels and grafts used for dialysis access.
