Process

A bony projection or prominence.

Any technical procedure that involves multiple steps.

The procedure used to polymerize dental resin in the production of dental prostheses or bases.

Application of heat to foods either before or after sealing in a container for a period of time and at a temperature scientifically determined to be adequate to achieve commercial sterility.

The things done (for a patient, for example). It is commonly stated in quality management that three things can be measured: structure (resources or organization), process, and outcome. “Structure” refers to resources and organization. “Outcome” is a somewhat vague term that presumably refers to the results of the process. There is a tendency on the part of some individuals to take an “either-or” position, to the effect that one need only be concerned with one of the three dimensions. This tendency is not logical; all three must be considered. Clearly, certain structure is needed; and equally clearly, there is no way to change outcome except through changing process, since “outcome ‘tells on’ process.”

In anatomy, thin projection or prominence, as on the vertebrae.

A thin prominence or protuberance; for example, any of the processes of a vertebra.

A collection of events or symptoms, such as an inflammation process.

A raised or protruding part, like the pointed part of a vertebra or the central core of a nerve.

In chemistry, a specific technique, response, or experiment.
