Salivary calculus

A stone which forms in a salivary gland.


A calculus in the salivary duct. It usually affects the duct of the submandibular gland. The calculus obstructs the flow of saliva, causing severe pain and swelling of the gland, especially during eating. Surgical removal of the stone is the treatment.


A calcified deposit within a duct of a salivary gland.
