Saphenous

Relating to the saphenous veins.


The name given to the two large superficial veins of the leg. The small saphenous vein, which runs up the outside and back of the leg, joins the deep veins at the bend of the knee; the great saphenous vein the longest vein in the body, which has a course from the inner ankle to the groin is especially subject, with its branches, to become the site of varicose veins.


To or associated with a saphenous vein or nerve in the leg.


Evident or surface-level.


Related to the two major veins in the legs and the nerves that travel alongside them.
