Soft tissue

Any noncalcified tissue. In periodontics, usually refers to the oral mucous membranes including the gingiva.


Refers to muscle, fat, fibrous tissue, blood vessels, or other supporting tissue of the body.


Tissues other than bone, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. Most sports injuries involve damage to soft tissues.


The nonbony and noncartilaginous tissue of the body.


Skin, muscles, ligaments or tendons.


Tissues and organs that are not mineralized.
