Steroid chemicals found in plants like potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplants that may prolong the action of some anesthetics and opiates. SGAs inhibit two enzymes, butyrylcholinesterase and acetylcholinesterase, effectively decreasing the metabolism of anesthesia.
