Urography

An X-ray examination of part of the urinary system after injection of radio-opaque dye.


An X-ray procedure used to diagnose abnormalities of the genitourinary tract. Intravenous urography involves intravenous injection of a contrast medium that allows visualization of the blood vessels of the kidneys and ureters. Retrograde urography involves visualization of the urinary tract by cystoscopy, bladder catheterization, and infusion of radiopaque material through the catheter.
