Value-added

Reflecting the position that something done to a given product or service has increased its value. Value-added taxes indicate that a product is worth more, and thus can be subject to a higher tax, after something has been done to it, such as merely keeping it in stock for the convenience of the customer. An annotated bibliography could be termed a “value-added” bibliography, since the discussion added to the citation makes it more valuable.
