Veganism

A strict form of vegetarianism in which all animal products, such as eggs, dairy foods, gelatin, and honey are excluded, in addition to meats. A vegan diet consists of plant-based foods such as vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds.

Choosing a diet that omits meat, fish, and all animal-derived items, including milk and eggs, characterizes a vegan diet. Such a dietary choice can lead to a potential lack of vitamin B12. It’s crucial to incorporate supplements of this vitamin, especially during pregnancy.
