Vestibular nerve

The part of the auditory nerve which carries information about balance to the brain.


The division of the vestibulocochlear nerve that carries impulses from the semicircular canals, utricle, and saccule of the inner ear to the brain, conveying information about the body’s posture and movements in space and allowing coordination and balance.


A main division of the acoustic or eighth cranial nerve; arises in the vestibular ganglion and is concerned with equilibrium.
