Vincristine

An alkaloid drug similar to vinblastine, also used in the treatment of cancer. It works by blocking cell division and is highly toxic.


That disrupts cell division and is used to treat many cancers, especially those of the lymphatic system. Adverse effects include a decrease in the number of white blood cells, nausea, vomiting, and hair loss.


A cytotoxic drug with uses and side-effects similar to those of vinblastine.


A type of vinca alkaloid employed in the treatment of specific cancers. Vincristine is known for inducing a specific side effect, peripheral or autonomic neuropathy (nerve damage). In contrast to other vinca alkaloids, it minimally affects the production of blood cells in the bone marrow. Additional potential side effects encompass abdominal pain, constipation, and temporary alopecia (hair loss).
