A surgical operation to remove the uterus, the lymph nodes which are next to it and most of the vagina, the ovaries and the Fallopian tubes, as treatment for cancer of the uterus [Described 1900. After Ernst Wertheim (1864-1920), Austrian gynaecologist.]


A surgical procedure to remove the entire uterus and as much of the surrounding tissue as possible.
