Wintergreen

A shrubby evergreen plant whose leaves have a very pleasant aroma and taste.


An evergreen shrub that grows close to the ground and is renowned for its aromatic leaves and red berries, which can be utilized to extract an oil commonly utilized as a flavoring agent in candies, chewing gum, and medicines, is known as “Wintergreen.” This shrub is also referred to by several other names, such as checkerberry, boxberry, spiceberry, and mountain tea.


Methyl salicylate, commonly utilized as a liniment or in an ointment form mixed with menthol, for alleviating conditions such as fibrositis, rheumatism, lumbago, arthritis, and similar ailments.
