Alfred Adler (1870–1937), the Austrian psychiatrist, proposed psychoanalytical concepts that are widely known as individual psychology. His theories revolved around the notion that every individual is inherently born with innate feelings of inferiority. According to Adler, life is perceived as an ongoing endeavor to conquer these feelings, and the inability to do so can result in the development of neurosis.
