The national professional association which accredits, serves, recognizes, and certifies physician executives. Individuals who are certified by the ACPE may be granted fellowship in the ACPE and may then use the designation FACPE (Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives) after their names as a credential. Formerly, ACPE was known as the American Academy of Medical Directors (AAMD).
