Substances occurring naturally in the blood said to defend against cancer cells. Anti-neoplastons are small proteins, peptides, and amino acid derivatives found naturally in human blood and thought to work against cancer cells by "reprogramming" them and turning them back into normal cells. People with cancer have very low levels of anti-neoplastons in their blood — as low as 2 percent of those found in healthy people's blood. Some experiments have been performed with synthetic anti-neoplastons to determine whether they can help cure cancer, but results have been inconclusive. The use of anti-neoplastons has not been endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States.
</oembed>
