A chronic fungal skin infection marked by itching and warty plaques on the skin and subcutaneous swellings of the feet, legs, and other exposed areas. Various fungi have been implicated, including Phialophora verrucosa, P. pedrosoi, P. compacta, and Cladosporium carrionii. Some of these are also called Fonsecaea pedrosoi and F. compacta.
