However, in certain situations where the baby is positioned abnormally, uterine contractions are weak, or the baby's head-to-pelvis ratio is not favorable, additional assistance may be required. This assistance can come in the form of a forceps delivery or vacuum extraction. In cases where a vaginal delivery poses risks to the mother or the baby, a caesarean section becomes necessary.
