Digital technique where two scans, containing different data sets, are combined together into one file. An example of a dual scan is a CBCT scan combined with an intraoral scan. The resultant file contains the surface data captured by the intraoral scan and the 3D slices of the underlying hard tissue from the CBCT scan.
