A program that assists with the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological, social, financial, and legal needs of the dying patient and her family. The service may be provided in the patients home or in an institution (or division of an institution) set up for the purpose. Volunteers are integral parts of the staff. Bereavement care for the family is also included.
