Describes an amount which is regularly adjusted in proportion to changes in some index, e.g. social security payments are now indexed to (or adjusted to reflect changes in) the Consumer Price Index. Some proposed XHI plans index premiums, cost sharing, catastrophic thresholds, income levels, or reimbursement rates to the CPI.
