Tumors in the lungs can be either malignant (cancerous) or benign (noncancerous).Benign tumors in the lungs are less common than malignant ones. The most prevalent among these is the bronchial adenoma, which originates in the lining of a bronchus. These adenomas can often block the bronchus, leading individuals to potentially cough up blood. The recommended treatment for adenoma is the surgical extraction of the tumor.Uncommon benign tumors also encompass fibromas, made up of fibrous tissue, and lipomas, derived from fatty tissue. Typically, these don't require treatment unless they're causing complications.
