It may also be caused by obstruction of the lymphatic vessels.Benign swelling in all or part of an extremity, as the result of dilation of the subcutaneous and deep lymphatic vessels. It occurs mostly in children and may be severe enough to cause deformity. Acquired lymphangiectasis can occur as a complication of surgery or radiation therapy for cancer.
