Treatment is by platelet transfusion.A hereditary blood disease in which the function of the platelets is defective although they are present in normal numbers. The manifestations are identical to those of thrombocytopenic purpura.A bleeding disorder caused by abnormal platelet function characterized by abnormal clot retraction, prolonged bleeding time, and lack of aggregation of the platelets.
