While the patient\u2019s foot is in a non\u2014 weight-bearing position, the examiner places a mark over the navicular tuberosity. Next, the foot is placed on the floor, again in a non- weight-bearing position, and a mark is made on a 3 X 5 index card to measure the distance between the floor and the navicular tubercle. The measure is repeated when the patient bears weight on the foot and the distance between the two marks is recorded. Inferior displacement of greater than 10 mm while bearing weight is considered hyper-pronation of the foot."}
