Areas in the right and left occipital lobes of the brain that merge images from both eyes to create a single image that is right side up and in its original horizontal direction.<\/p>\n

The primary visual areas of the cerebral cortex, contained in the gyri on either side of the calcarine sulcus on the medial surface of the occipital lobe. The visual cortex of one side of the brain receives input representing the opposite half of the visual fields of both eyes.<\/p>\n
