Premonition does not involve a pictorial vision but rather an overwhelming feeling that something is going to happen a foreboding that comes from deep inside. The feeling is seldom a happy one; it mostly portends an unpleasant or unwelcome happening.<\/p>\n
Premonition involves a particular kind of knowing that does not come empirically through the senses that is, through sight, hearing, smell, taste, or touch but according to ancient lore is believed to be connected to some form of nonphysical, spiritual, or psychic entity that is extrasensory. The information received comes at any time of the day or night and is not available, at that time, to anyone else. Psychical research has yet to prove the existence of premonitions. There is much anecdotal evidence for its existence, but information is usually reported retrospectively, after the event has happened. To aid their study, researchers now have set up premonition registries in the United States where people can report their forebodings as soon as they occur.<\/p>\n
