An electronic method of individualizing learning. This is accomplished by having learners select their own objectives and by identifying their own characteristics, which are then entered into a computer and, in turn, provided suggested learning experiences that can be pursued by the learners to assist them in achieving their objectives. In the early to middle 1970s, the New York State Education Department experimented with its entire health education curriculum for grades K through 12 by developing what was called Computer-Based Resource Units (CBRU). This system of curriculum design was developed by Dr. Robert Hamack at the State University of New York at Buffalo.<\/p>\n
