Backward displacement or inclination of an organ, esp. in reference to the uterus, the upper part of which may be tilted backward in relation to the lower part or cervix, which is pointed toward the pubic bone.<\/p>\n

The backward inclination of an organ, especially of the womb (uterine retroversion), when it is tipped back so that the neck (cervix) points toward the pubic symphysis (the bone under the pubic hair).<\/p>\n

\n

An abnormal position of the uterus, occurring in about 20 per cent of women, in which its long axis is pivoted backwards in relation to the cervix uteri and vagina instead of forwards.<\/p>\n

A turning, or a state of being turned back; especially, the tipping of an entire organ.<\/p>\n
