Traditionally, dental technicians have been trained on the job, but the predominant method of training now is through formal programs offered by two-year post-secondary educational institutions. Upon completion of an aggregate of five years in dental technology training and experience, technicians are eligible to apply for examination and certification by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology.<\/p>\n
