An agency which provides home health care. To be certified under Medicare an agency must provide skilled nursing services and at least one additional therapeutic service (physical, speech or occupational therapy, medical social services, or home health aide services) in the home.<\/p>\n
Essentially the same as a home health care program in that it provides medical and other health services in the patient’s home. Unlike the home care program, which provides services itself, the home health agency has the option of arranging the services by contracting with others. The term “home health agency” is applied to both nonprofit and proprietary bodies.<\/p>\n
