The delayed signal makes a detour around the damaged area, so that the affected ventricle still beats but slightly slower than its counterpart. Bundle branch block may have the effect of slowing the heartbeat.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>A defect in the specialized conducting tissue of the heart that is recognized as an electrocardiographic abnormality. Left or right bundle branch blocks, affecting the respective ventricles, may be seen. Occasionally both left and right bundle branch block occur simultaneously and the patient develops complete &#8216;heart block.
