Swelling of the smaller lymph vessels as a result of obstructions in larger vessels.<\/p>\n

Dilatation of the lymphatic vessels, which is usually congenital and produces enlargement of various parts of the body (e.g. the leg in Milroy’s disease). It may also be caused by obstruction of the lymphatic vessels.<\/p>\n

\n

Benign swelling in all or part of an extremity, as the result of dilation of the subcutaneous and deep lymphatic vessels. It occurs mostly in children and may be severe enough to cause deformity. Acquired lymphangiectasis can occur as a complication of surgery or radiation therapy for cancer.<\/p>\n
