Yerba Mate

A form of holly that is grown in Paraguay.

Mate tea is a popular South American beverage. More stimulating than coffee or tea but contains little caffeine. Very rich in vitamins and minerals. Has valuable restorative and sustaining properties.

Indigenous to South America, a shrub of notable repute yields leaves that, once dried, are employed in the creation of a beverage known as Paraguay tea. The traditional method of preparation involves placing the leaves within a hollowed-out gourd and infusing them with boiling water. To partake in this invigorating elixir, a slender metallic straw-like tube is employed, enabling one to savor the tea by drawing it up through the vessel.
