The chemical composition resembles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthbenefitstimes.com\/nutrition\/eicosapentaenoic-acid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eicosapentaenoic acid<\/a> except an elongated with one carbon on carbon on carboxyl end which place the first double bond in the \u03946 position. HPA is used to study influence of the position of double bonds in \u03c9-3 fatty acids. It assimilates into phospholipids and into triacylglycerol in vivo having same efficiency as EPA and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthbenefitstimes.com\/nutrition\/docosahexaenoic-acid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">docosahexaenoic acid<\/a> &amp; exhibit strong inhibition of arachidonic acid synthesis from linoleic acid.
