Agarwood oil essential oil has other common names such as Aloeswood oil, Oud oil and Gaharu. This oil is very precious and rarely found natural oil that is extracted from the various species of Agarwood trees such as Aquilaria malaccensis, Aquilaria crassna or Aquilaria agallocha. Agarwood has light or pale color when the trees are healthy but after infected by disease, it results to a dark and aromatic resin which is called oleoresin. The agarwood essential oil is extracted from the rich dark resin through the water distillation process. The resin is like a wine, the older the resin it is highly prized. As it is rarely found in wild, now the trees are cultivated and from artificial infection, the resin is created which is used to extract essential oils. The quality of oil is graded by how long the distillation time took. Agarwood essential oil has aphrodisiac properties that help to upgrade the sperm count.
