Sudden loss of consciousness during urination; most often observed in men.
The abrupt loss of consciousness during urination. It usually occurs in men who get up at night to urinate and is mediated by an increase in vagal tone.
A momentary lapse of consciousness that occurs either during or immediately after urination, often experienced when an individual gets out of bed to use the restroom at night. This phenomenon is more frequently observed in older men. It is believed to stem from a decrease in blood pressure upon standing, coupled with alterations in blood circulation during bladder emptying.
