Truncus arteriosus

Heart malformation in which a single large vessel empties both ventricles, causing cyanosis to develop soon after birth with severe congestive heart failure, dyspnea, retractions, fatigue, polycythemia, clubbing, increased pulse pressure, bounding peripheral pulses, and cardiomegaly.

The main arterial trunk arising from the fetal heart. It develops into the aorta and pulmonary artery.
