Residential care facility

A nursing facility that offers a combination of housing, personal services, and health care to older or disabled people who are unable to take care of themselves independently. Residential care or assisted living facilities are geared toward people who can no longer maintain a household without assistance but do not require continuous medical attention. The goal in these facilities is to provide maximum independence in a homelike environment. Exercise and recreational opportunities may also be available.
